William Dougall Christie (1816-1874)
The son of the physician Dougal Christie (d. 1837); educated at Trinity College,
Cambridge, he was a Liberal MP for Weymouth (1842-47) before pursuing a career as a
diplomat and producing an edition of Dryden (1870).
