The daughter of Sir George Berriman Rumbold; she married Colonel Adolphe de St Clair of the French garde du corps. She was one of the two step-daughters of Sir Sidney Smith, of whom Charles Macfarlane commented, “they set no bounds to their flirtations, or to their extravagance.”
