Archibald William Montgomerie, thirteenth earl of Eglinton (1812-1861)
The son of the twelfth earl (d. 1814); he was educated at Eton, afterwards devoting
himself to horses and Tory politics. In 1839 he sponsored the Eglinton Tournament,
described in Disraeli's Endymion.
