Maria Riddell [née Woodley] (1772-1808)
The daughter of a West-Indian plantation owner, in 1790 she married Walter Riddell
(1764-1802); she was a poet, editor, and literary hostess in Scotland and London. Shortly
before her death she was remarried to Phillips Lloyd Fletcher.
