This is just what I thought likely, what I think reasonable, and what, if I had been desired to name the sum for myself, I should have fixed on, with this difference only, that I would have had the amount of both pensions without deductions.*
“They give me, however, an income of 375l. a year, subject to no other contingencies than those of the state,—and I am contented and thankful.
