Joseph Fawcett (1758 c.-1804)
Presbyterian preacher at the Old Jewry meeting-house in London (1785-95) before taking up
farming and succumbing to drink; he wrote poetry and was a radical friend of Godwin and
Hazlitt.
Thomas Holcroft (1745-1809)
English playwright and novelist; a friend of William Godwin indicted for treason in 1794;
author of
The Road to Ruin (1792). His
Memoirs (1816) were completed by William Hazlitt.
George Robinson (1736-1801)
London bookseller who published the
Critical Review (from 1774)
and the
Town and Country Magazine.
