The the daughter of Francis Browne (d. 1796) and Anna Maria Noble (d. 1809); raised by Harriet Beaufort (1778-1865), in 1816 she married Thomas Alexander Stewart (1786-1847) and emigrated to Canada in 1822. Her correspondence was published as Our Forest Home (1902).
