The second son of Francis Seymour-Conway, first Marquess of Hertford, educated at Eton and Hertford and Merton Colleges, Oxford, he was MP for Coventry (1766-74), Midhurst (1774-8)), and Downton (1780-84). He was an acquaintance of George Crabbe.
