Scottish advocate, the eldest son of Edward M'Cormick; he was educated at Edinburgh High School and Glasgow University where he obtained a Snell Exhibition to Ballilol College, Oxford and was afterwards sheriff-depute of the county of Bute. He is mocked in “The Chaldee Manuscript.”
