Of Brandywine Hundred, New Castle, Delaware; a Manchester dyer and political radical, he emigrated to the United States and was the business partner of the former United Irishman Archibald Hamilton Rowan. A William Aldred, son of William Aldred, dyer, appears in the Manchester School Register for 1771.
