The daughter of George Carpenter, second Baron Carpenter of Killaghy; in 1751 she married Charles Wyndham, second Earl of Egremont, and in 1767 Hans Mortiz Graf von Brühl. She was Lady of the Bedchamber to Queen Charlotte.
