A debtor in the King's Bench Prison who wrote to Byron asking him to present a petition in Parliament; presumably the author of Petition on the Injustice, Inhumanity, Impolicy, and Illegality of Imprisonment for Debt (1813) and other pamphlets. But Byron refers to him as “Martin.”
